Do you enjoy adult slop-pitch softball, but do you not have a full team to register? If so, we have the league for you! The adult fall draft softball league will form teams by pulling individual names out of a hat until each team has a full roster. This is a co-ed, low rec league, where the overall goal is to have fun, meet new people, and of course, play softball. Each team will play a doubleheader on Sunday afternoons resulting in 16 games total, followed by a single elimination championship tournament. Teams are responsible for game balls. Umpire fees are included in the registration fee!

Youth Futsal League games will be played at Woodson Gym on the basketball court. Players are required to wear non marking indoor soccer shoes or shin guards. Teams will consist of a maximum of 12 players. Teams are required to provide their own matching uniforms. Games will consist of (2) two halves of (24) twenty four minutes. Games are 5v5 (4 field players and a keeper). Each team will play (7) seven games followed by a single elimination playoff tournament. Tournament champs will receive (12) twelve championship medals.

Oklahoma City Parks & Recreation offers multiple divisions and levels of basketball leagues for boys and girls ages 5 - 12. Youth basketball is an exciting sport combining team play and individual skills. Give your child the opportunity to develop balance, hand eye coordination, teamwork, social skills and confidence with this 8-game Youth Basketball League.
 
Practices are one day a week dependent on coach's and team availability.  Games are played at Municipal Gym on Saturdays. Included in registration: uniform jersey, practices, games, and end of season award. Players are responsible for all other equipment.
 
The recreation programs are dependent upon volunteer coaches. Volunteer coaches are allowed to bring any amount of kids to their team.  The remaining roster will be filled by the league director based on a blind draw and the school the children attend. If you would like to help the program by becoming a coach, please contact the league director.

Camps

Mon 10/08/18 to Fri 10/12/18  Haunted Holiday Camp

Participants 10 and up to take part in planning and implementing something spooky! It only takes one week to make a spectacular Haunted House. Participants arrive at 8am on Monday to start utilizing their imaginations to design and create a hauntingly spooktacular maze of rooms under the supervision of the Northwest Optimist staff. Activities for decorating the house include pumpkin carving, shrunken apple heads, scary art work and painting scenery. In addition participants will design their own costuming and makeup to transform themselves into the characters haunting the house. This program ends with campers performing in the Haunted House for family, fiends and the public. Participants will need to bring their lunch, and snacks will be provided. Campers will also need to wear clothing that can be worked in and messied, and closed toe shoes.

Holiday Magic Makers fill this week with humorous skits, songs and dance finishing with two shows on Friday. The week includes, snacks, Holiday Arts and Crafts, costume making and makeup tips. Participants need to bring their own lunch and clothing that they can move and dance in. Any special items, musical instruments or dance shoes will be discussed during the first day.
 
Performances will be Friday December 21st at 3:00 PM and 5:30 PM, tickets will be charged at the door. $1/person 10 and under, $3/person 11 and over.

Come dressed in your school's favorite colors to run this timed 5K along the beautiful River Trails in Downtown OKC! Each runner will receive a finisher medal and t-shirt. There will be prizes awarded to the top 3 finishers for both males and females. The race begins at 9:00 a.m. with the award ceremony to immediately follow. Your school pride garb is welcome from any college or university, so come out and show your school spirit! Walkers, strollers, wheelchairs, and service dogs are welcome.
 
Proceeds from this event benefit the OKC Parks and Recreation department.  OKC Parks provides recreational youth and adult sports leagues, aquatics, performing arts, youth summer and school break camps, and many more programs.  Your participation in the OKC Parks Race Series will help keep the department's costs low so we can continue to offer programs for you!
 
Online registration closes at 11:59pm on Friday, November 9th. In-person registration will be available during packet pickup (cash or cards only). Day-of registration will be available before the start of the race from 7:30 a.m. - 8:30 a.m. (cash only).
 
Packet pickup will be at OK Runner (708 N. Broadway) in Automobile Alley. Packets will be available for pickup on  Friday, Nov. 9th from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Participants will bring their chili in a crock pop along with any "fixins" they would like. We will set out the crock pots randomly with a jar next to each one. Patrons will taste each chili in a blind taste test and put a dollar in the jar of the chili they like best. The chili that collects the most money wins. Once all the money is collected and counted the winner will receive half and the other half will go to the recreation center.
 
Must be 18+ to enter the contest, all ages are welcome to participate in the tasting.
It costs $5 to enter the contest, however it is free to participate in the tasting.
$1 = 1 vote, to determine the best chili.
