Youth Futsal League games will be played at Woodson Gym on the basketball court. Players are required to wear non marking indoor soccer shoes or shin guards. Teams will consist of a maximum of 12 players. Teams are required to provide their own matching uniforms. Games will consist of (2) two halves of (24) twenty four minutes. Games are 5v5 (4 field players and a keeper). Each team will play (7) seven games followed by a single elimination playoff tournament. Tournament champs will receive (12) twelve championship medals.

Oklahoma City Parks & Recreation offers divisions of basketball leagues for boys and girls ages 5 - 12. Youth basketball is an exciting sport combining team play and individual skills. Give your child the opportunity to develop balance, hand eye coordination, teamwork, social skills and confidence with this 8-game Youth Basketball League.
 
Practices are one day a week dependent on coach's and team availability.  Games are played at Municipal Gym on Saturdays. Included in registration: uniform jersey, practices, games, and end of season award. Players are responsible for all other equipment.
 
The recreation programs are dependent upon volunteer coaches. Volunteer coaches are allowed to bring any amount of kids to their team.  The remaining roster will be filled by the league director based on a blind draw and the school the children attend. If you would like to help the program by becoming a coach, please contact the league director.

This intro to competitive league will consist of 8 games: 4 home games and 4 away games. Games may be on Saturday or Sunday. Teams will travel to surrounding Metro areas, including: Edmond, Mustang, Yukon, Guthrie, North Oklahoma City, El Reno, and Shawnee. Younger children may play up two age groups, however older children may not play down any age group. All new players are required to provide a copy of their birth certificates so that we can verify their age.

Camps

Have an adventure for your Spring Break! Our goal is for your child to challenge themselves and step outside their comfort zone. Through participating in fun and engaging activities, your child will gain important new skills including decision making, positive group interactions, and increased confidence. Campers will spend the week experiencing rock climbing, swimming, setting up a campsite, fishing, tree climbing, making s'mores, archery, and so much more! Camp will meet daily at Foster Recreation Center and visit several exciting outdoor locations around the OKC metro.
  • Extended care available; $40/camper. 7:30am-9:00am and 5:00pm-5:30pm.
  • Morning and afternoon snacks provided.
  • Campers will need to bring daily: tennis shoes, backpack, reusable water bottle, sunscreen, bug spray, and lunch. A towel and swimsuit needed on swim day.
  • A parent packet will be emailed out to the account used to register your child. In the packet will be waivers necessary to participate in the camp.

The earth is 71% water, so open your horizons by learning how to swim! Group swim lessons with Oklahoma City Parks and Recreation teaches aspiring land dwellers to master the ways of the fish. Our curriculum from Starfish Aquatics Institute emphasizes aquatic safety and a natural progression from non-swimmer to future competitive swimmer. All of our instructors are certified swim instructors and certified lifeguards.
 
Sessions come in both weekday and weekend formats. Weekday classes take place on Monday and Wednesday evenings starting at either 6:00pm or 7:00pm. These classes are forty-five minutes long and last three weeks. Weekend classes take place on Saturdays starting at either 10:00am or 11:15am and last four weeks.

Since 1891 lifeguards have proudly patrolled beaches, pools, rivers, waterfronts, and other bodies of water. Come learn how to keep others safe from drowning, perform professional level CPR, and utilize AED's and other lifesaving equipment. All City of Oklahoma City Parks and Recreation Lifeguard Certification Courses are provided by StarGuard certified instructors, one of the top five nationally recognized lifeguard certifying bodies in the country. Classes are provided FREE to persons who apply and work for The City of Oklahoma City's Parks and Recreation Department. Persons seeking employment outside of OKC Parks and Recreation are required to pay $235.
 
Classes 1-10 meet on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evenings.
Class 11 meets on four separate Friday afternoons.
 
Classes 1-7 are reserved for persons who are seeking employment with The City of Oklahoma City Parks and Recreation Department.

Why not make swimming even more fun by adding in some learning and friendly competition? OKC Parks and Recreation offers a recreational Swim Team during the summer for just that purpose!
 
Swim Team is focused on improving swimmers strokes and form, and also on building friendships and having a blast! Participants can join for part of or the entire summer, and are not required to attend every practice. Swim meets are held at varying locations around the OKC Metro on Saturday mornings throughout the summer.
 
Swim Team meets Monday and Wednesday mornings from 9:30am - 10:30am and Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:30pm - 7:30pm.
